Spend a month in Singapore and a month in cambodia, and you would know first hand that Singapore is very expensive to live, and Cambodia is very reasonable, and that determines your future in either, never relocate on what is said on forums find out first hand, then you can tick your own can do & can not do,

The basic needs, 1 housing, 2 work permits, 3utilities

4 income, 5 health care,6 Visa, 7 transport,

Research that yourself. Stay well stay safe good health.

Just to offer my take. I lived in Singapore for a year back in 2010 to 2011 and visited before and after that dozens of times. Living there was fun but expensive. I shared a corporate apartment with two software engineers that worked in our Sg offices. Costs for going out were quite high unless we went to food courts or hawker centers for meals. Beer is expensive. I am not sure how much we spent on a monthly basis. Before and after living there I probably went through on my way to India dozens of times. At one point I lived in India with our team there and came back only monthly for team meetings or traveled to other places like Japan. I think you would find Singapore quite expensive for basic life needs. We did. Many times we would go off to Malaysia for shopping, eating, fun.

I live in Siem Reap now and have been here 2 years this time with my Khmer partner. She has a desire to go to Singapore but we will only spend a few days to see some of the tourist things like Gardens by the Bay and other stuff.

I much prefer Siem Reap for day to day living and its costs but perhaps I am biased after living in Sg for some time and traveling through many times.

It is always fun to visit Sg and especially enjoying Changi Airport. Probably the nicest airport I have ever been to.

Have been living in Phnom Penh for 6 months, and here’s my summary (personal opinion): For me, Cambodia (Phnom Penh)’s living cost is quite expensive compare to what this country has to offer. Public trans in the city that they only have is TukTuk, and for public facilities infrastructures are old and unorganized,  also they like big music using speakers, even inside some malls they like to use loud speakers, neon light is every where remind me of living in the 80's. And for medical, if you get sick, and you would like to have an international doctor to chek up on you in a nice Clinic they will charge you $80 just for a general doctor’s fee, not to mention the rate for specialist doctor.

I dont mind to pay high for living cost as long as they have good facilities in return, in here the facilitiEs are so basic, but they charged everything in USD rate hahahaha.

Never compare to Singapore or Australia, it’s so clear they’re more expensive, but in return you get what you pay
