    Buca can get very hot.

To get the most enjoyment out of Buca as an É«»¨Ìà visitor

or resident, I recommend the following weather-related hacks for

the warmer days.

(1) Take advantage of the shade provided by the thousands

of tall, mature trees that line many of the main avenidas

if walking in the city during the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. time frame.

(2) There are generally air-conditioned taxis at some locations,

such as my favorite hotel, Dann Carlton Bucaramanga.

(3) Although most taxis do not have aire acondicionado,

a few do.  Look for taxis on the move with their windows closed

as these are more likely to have aire.

(4)  If expecting your walk will take more than a few minutes,

plan a stop along the way at a pharmacy, restaurant

or other venue that is air conditioned, before completing your walk.

(5)  On warm days, plan any daylight-hour activities you can

for the 5-6 p.m. hour when the outside temperatures are

lower than at midday and shade can be extremely plentiful

in the extremely É«»¨ÌÃ-friendly Cabecera sector.

(6) Take advantage of any opportunities to use outdoor

swimming pools such as at the better hotels including

Holiday Inn Cacique and Dann Carlton.
