Revolut Account by stevebillo1
Can anyone tell me if I can keep my Revolut account that was opened in the UK if I move to Cyprus, I have seen some reports that say I can, and others say I would have to close the UK Rev account and then open a new one in Cyprus?Cheers

@Toon Yes, I was aware that HSBC allow this (although I understand that they might try to persuade you to switch to an "offshore" account - but the income and/or savings requirements for that are quite high!)Nationwide have also informed me that ... Read More

@stevebillo1 Yes, if/when you become tax resident in Cyprus then you should change your account; the European Revolut bank (registered in Lithuania) is a separate legal "entity" from the UK registered bank. Having said that, it is a fact that many ... Read More

Update--Paphos time!! We've started the process to move to Tala by londondoc
We spent some time in Paphos in February this year. In the main, it was fabulous - mesmeric, in fact. As I wrote earlier, unfortunately at the time, we got in to the clutches of an overzealous realtor and that blotted the copybook somewhat. But as ...

@telf Yep, that's a good rate, I'm currently being offered 1.1912 from Wise or 1.1889 from Revolut. Read More

@Gordon76 There is a difference between "habitual" residence (where you normally live) and tax residence, they're not necessarily the same! While you can visit the UK for up to 90 days without becoming resident for immigration purposes, the rules ... Read More

In addition to all the points made by Toon, also bear in mind:1. If you tell your UK bank (or they find out) that you are Cyprus tax-resident, they may require you to close the account. Some do, some don't; check their terms and conditions! 2. Even ... Read More

Investment and moving to Cyprus by RW60
I am in the process of planning to retire to Cyprus in 3 years time. I have just returned from a fact finding trip and generally feel comfortable with most aspects of the move and besides which I have 3 years to get to fine tune and get to grips ...

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this! All "government" pensions, e.g. civil service, local government, NHS, Armed Forces, etc. will be liable to UK tax, but the State Pension, despite its name, is technically NOT a pension, it's a social ... Read More

@timhuntington As Toon says, if you're resident in Cyprus for more than 183 days per year (as presumably you are since you say that you spend "the majority" of the year in Cyprus) then you should automatically be Cyprus tax-resident.You would still ... Read More

I think that they'll only accept an ACRO police check document that's less then 6 months old, so don't apply for it too early - but still allow enough time to get it and get it apostilled! Read More

The reason why all documents have to be apostilled is that, no matter how "official" it may look, you can't expect foreign governments to know the difference between a genuine document and a good fake copy, whereas the apostille mark is ... Read More

Prudential pension in UK by lshill
My husband has a pru pension in the UK. They have told him he has to remove it by August this year. They don’t provide options but told us we had to pay an IFA to do this at a cost of 2%. Now the IFA is struggling because my husband ...
