General question about KSU employment and cost of living

vintageviolet

Hi all!  My husband is corresponding with a department at KSU directly (this is not for teaching English), and I was just curious-- on average, do any of you know if Assistant Professors get paid enough in salary/benefits to cover cost of living in Riyadh?  There is just the two of us, and we're not cost-heavy individuals.  We'd be looking for something small to rent, like a one-bedroom (or if housing is provided, we'd take that as long as they accepted our cat).  We were hoping to be able to save money as well.  My husband is a dual citizen (US and a neighboring Arab country to KSA), so culturally and lingually we could venture out of a more "Western" area and not worry about it (since I gather compounds are more pricey).  Thanks!
