Visa medical - syphilis test

dylangking
I have been accepted for a teaching job (primary) in Kuwait and my school have obtained my work visa. I have to do the police check, medical and passport stamp at the embassy. I had syphilis about 10-11 years ago but I am aware that the antibodies  may still show on the blood tests. As I am due to get my medical report, if it shows positive for syphilis will my visa be rejected or would the doctors have to write a supporting note? I am a bit anxious as time is ticking, also I know in UAE the syphilis tests impact you based on certain industries.

Hopefully someone can help!

Even if the antibodies are still present in your body, I don't think that's what they use to test for the presence of the syphilis bacterium. As long as the bacteria are not there, you are likely to test negative. I once had the same problem about 25 years ago, but I got tested last week and the results came out negative
