Coming from Saudia to Bahrain by causeway

mohdfarhansaleem

Hi

One of my relative wants to come to Bahrain by causeway . He's having Saudi resident permit ( iqama ) & vaccinated with 2 dose of Astrazeneca

Can he travel by causeway. What's the easiest way to obtain visa for him. Is there quarantine applicable. ? Can someone give a brief . Thanks

First part, he can come without quarantine or test by showing status of "Immune" on Tawakkalna.

Second part, and this keeps changing:   On the causeway, they have been stopping on-arrival visas for Iqama holders off and on.  Sometimes, on arrival is stopped for all Iqama professions and at other times, it is only open for higher professions.  On arrival seems to be working consistently only on the basis of nationality i.e. if your passport allows for a visa on arrival in Bahrain (e.g. UK, US etc), you will get it.

I cross every week but I have both Saudi Iqama and Bahrain residency.  Every other week, they ask me to prove my right to enter Bahrain (at Saudi immigration) and that is when I know that on-arrival for Iqama holders is not working this week :).

So if he wants to get through without issue, it is better to apply for a visa beforehand.   But if you don't want the hassle, just ask him to go to the causeway and try to cross (if he has a good profession on the Iqama - forget about it completely if it is labor or driver or things like that)..........you may be lucky during any particular week.

We had a discussion on this here:
