FilmOn!

mikea

Hi Folks... seems like an age...

Anyhow, a quick question if I may, does anybody on the forum use: -

a) The FilmOn free service (I know you do Toon!)

b) The FilmOn subscription service?

and if so, what are the results like these days?

Cheers one and all (and I still miss Malta like mad!)

I use the free one with my iPhone & Apple-TV (and a 25 m/b connection), works like a charm.....

We use the free service OK with just the odd freezing. Generally just switching from one channel to another then back again sorts it out.

Toon

yep id go along with that - not tried the HD subs system and wont until after the UK sats go down....... the SD quality is good  with a little freezing but for what we watch I thinks its fine.

id be more interested in the other box (airbox) if it can be proved to work the way it says it does

Fusspot

we use the free part of filmon, with not much trouble, like others a bit of freezing. What we have started to do is record (can do up to 10hrs free) then watch as no freezing and can fast forward the ads.:)
if the airbox system is same as the one some of my Spanish expiates friends tried, no that good in some areas, freezing or nothing at all.

Toon

might that be due to quality of internet speed though?

I also use the free app on my Android smartphone and works pretty good. I still did not search if I can have it on my PC as it would very handy coz I now have my desktop hooked to my TV.

pgl

@mantonas: Yep, just go to and maximize the viewer. :)

Thanks for tip pgl. Never thought about that lol :D I always open it from my phone and when I wanted to see it on the TV, I used a MHL adapter to connect the phone to the TV.

Cheers :)

We have tablet attached to tv so watch live or within few hours, but if we think may want to keep film/program save on pc via hubbies user name and download, then delete from filmon, so can watch at much later date. Also with two user names have 20hrs free recording:)

Does that follow that the more user names you have the more recording time you can have also?

Fusspot

don't see why not it just remember them all and passwords:D

I have to say that I now have been watching filmon thru my TV (with my desktop hooked to it) and to be honest, no major issues with the stream. I have watched a full movie on ITV3+1 last night, and the picture did not freeze once. So far, so good :)

mikea

That sounds good... How good was the quality of the picture and what sort of size TV are you streaming it onto (sorry for being so nosy!)

Toon

i use the SD on a 55inch led and its fine

That's ok mikea! It's an 47 inch HD TV. The quality it's actually quite good, considering that it's a stream.

mikea

Many thanks ...
