Getting a Bulgarian Passport - Naturalisation

VillageLife

I am not that far away from meeting the criteria...married (to Bulgarian citizen) + holding permanent for 3 years.

I don't have to give up my existing citizenship because I am married to a Bulgarian citizen (allowed dual citizenship, as I understand it).

I was wondering if anyone has done this recently or in the past?. I really want to know if I need to show any specific evidence of living (proof of income, bills etc) or just my permanent residence card with date issued is good enough?. (If I do I will start to collate the evidence in advance).

I tried to find the forms online but can't find it them.

Note - I know about the language criteria and working towards this (going to be an iterative process for sure :). Seems like you can retake the exam as many times as you want, every 3 months).

Congratulations for the achievement.

The most important thing is to get the exam, the rest are a lot of documents whixh you need to provide - prosecutors, court, medical tests, to fill in some declarations. I advise some of my clients to have some preparation courses to some trusted Bulgarian teachers who are familiar with the test. And then you will have no issues.

Thanks Vasilev. This is very useful.

I was worried as I don't really have any documents as proof of living in Bulgaria (other than my permanent residence). No health care records, no bills, no tenancy, no taxes etc. I was worried that could be a problem.
