@Clouderzzz You have already met the social economic contribution condition. Given your situation, the important condition to check is that you have lived in Belgium for an uninterrupted period of 5 years. Don't forget that to apply for nationality, you must hold a permanent residence permit (the requirement for which depends on a number of factors).

I recently started my Belgium Citizenship application with commune Woluwe Saint Lambert in Brussels. Commune asked me to get Identity certificate from Indian Embassy as I changed my surname after marriage.

Indian Embassy provided me with one and the same certificate stating person stated on birth certificate is same as passport. This certificate was not accepted by my commune. Now again Embassy has agreed to provide me with some certificate to state that my name before marriage was ---- and after marriage is ----

I am hoping that this will be accepted by my commune. Has anyone faced this before? Can we ask commune to consult with immigration or Legal if they don't accept this or can we reach out to immigration or legal to contest this?

Hii … Your and my situation is more or less same .

In my situation , my name on my passport is with surname and on date of birth is just my name .

So i asked indian embassy in BXL then they issued me same certificate as like yours  ( Both are same person) .

Then i legalised that certificate from FPS Foreign affairs BXL .

I already submitted that document in january 2024 for nationality and they didn’t say anything about that .
