Hello all,

Could you please help me with the term gedetacheerd mentioned in my WPs from 2017 to 2020 and stating this as a reason the town hall rejected my application to L card and mentioned not possible to apply till 2025.

Residing in Belgium since Jan 2017 so it was non interrupted stay for 5 years already.

@jorda.tamil I think you have been posted to Belgium and have not paid social security to Belgium?

By the new law, the year you have not paid any social security does not count (especially posted workers), which is indeed, logic.

Did you by chance had a scholarship during those years?

did you get the information after formally applying to get the L card? or was it just the front desk person that said you can't apply until 2025? I'm just trying to rule out the case where they are just incorrect about your case, some of the people at the office are not so knowledgeable about specific situations. If that is the case then you may want to check with another employee.
