i'm not in singapore yet, i'm trying to find out what i need in order to work there. i'm a hairstylist therefore i'll be seeking a job on this area.
i already emailed the greek embassy in singapore but i've got no reply yet..
if there's anyone greek here it would be very helpful to tell me a few things ..

What kind of visa do you think of getting for Singapore?
To work here, you need either an EP (condition: you have a university degree and earn above S$3000/month), S-Pass (condition: you have a technical certificate and earn above S$2000) or a WP (condition: you come from a country approved for manual labourers - Greece is not among them!).
Without degree or certificate, you can only work here on an EP/P1, for which there is a minimum salary of S$8000/month.
A typical hairdresser in Singapore earns S$1000-1200/month.

hello and thank you for your info, i've been checking out the visas too but i don't know what kind of visa i can get. simply cause no one's gonna hire me before, and i don't think someone would invite me. a typical hairdresser in singapore earns 1000$? how can someone make a living with 1000$?

As a Greek, you can get 30 days tourist visa (VP) on arrival, and this can be extended to 89 days (go to ICA to apply). It is allowed to search for a job on that.
Once you find one, the employer (not you) applies for your work visa (EP, S-Pass or WP, see above).

Many people in Singapore (mostly expats from other Asian countries) earn S$1000 or below. They stay in crowded dormitories (4 - 5 bunk beds per room) and eat the cheapest food, so they can send money to their families back home.
It is not possible to afford a whole room on your own on that salary!

i suppose i'll have to seek for job with a tourist visa.. thank you. i don't mind about the cheapest food, i'll find a way for food..the one thing i can't do though is staying in crowded dormitories. there's no way i'm gonna share a room with other. therefore i'll need a little more than 1000$. we'll see

I thought so - the conditions in the foreign worker dormitories are often atrocious: Search Youtube for video examples.
I also think you don't want to eat their food, at least not every day: For them, a S$5 (€3) hawker meal is a once-a-week luxury!

You can rent a room for about S$800-1000/month, and live and eat reasonably well for S$600-800/month (alcohol, transport, phone, travel and all other luxuries excluded).

If you want to earn more, you should look for a job in a field that is NOT overrun by cheap third world labour (like hair dressing is).
And you need a university degree or technical certificate (and applicable work experience) to have a chance for a work visa. If you don't have that, better look in other countries!
