Teaching Positions

mickeypeach

Hi

My wife is a headteacher in the UK for the last 20 years. We have applied to a lot of international schools for leadership roles has well as teaching positions but we are not getting any responses. Do they tend to just fill in positions with experienced international school teachers or teachers from their own groups ? We would have thought that with her experience some schools might at least have spoken to her.

Thanks for any advice.

I was in the same position applying for many roles. I was a HOD and had a whole school responsibility and few schools got back to me (maybe 10-15% of applications). The most senior was a SLT role and one was a teacher role. I ended up taking the teacher role and asked for a whole school responsibility which they agreed.

Most of my applications were for the middle East, but only one school there got back to me.

These were all through TES, with some adverts directing me to another site.

It may be worth going to some agencies for roles.
