Exit procedures

Amanda Taulbee

Hello, everyone!

I'm a teacher in the Zhejiang province.

I've only been here for less than a year, but due to a multitude of circumstances, I need to make an exit in the near future. Since I have lived in countries that have specific exit procedures, I have been looking into what paperwork is needed to leave China. I read that I need to go to the "frontier inspection office." Is there one in each province or is this someplace I go to when going to the airport? I read there was an application, but haven't found a link to that application. Any feedback from anyone who may know someone who has departed would be extremely helpful.

Many thanks!

If you want to leave China, you simply leave. I have traveled outside the country numerous times while living here. As long as your visa in not expired, the authorities do not much care.
