Nicaragua visit open to suggestions

rtg0303

Not yet in Nicaragua but looking forward to a two-to-three-month visit to get a sense of the country, culture, food and people. Expect to go in September/October. Thinking a laid-back area along the West coast north of Managua.

Open for suggestions.

1st-2nd week of November is spring 🌼 in Nicaragua. End of rainy season depending on end of hurricane season in Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. In most of NI cool nights and warm days. Masaya and Granada will tend to have intense brief thunderstorms with torrential rain for an hour, but the sun will come out the next morning.

I like Pacific coast north of Leon to Jiquillo.

By the end of January it is getting increasingly warm, especially at night and I need a fan to sleep with. and then the zancudos biting ants and mosquitoes start to come in February-May along with the Scorpions.

Northern Nicaragua starting in Esteli and ranging up to Somoto Ocatal and Jalapa start at 2900 to 2300 ft thereby resulting in a cooler warm season and the less bugs until February or March.

November-January best for most of NI.

My one visit to the Corn 🌽 Islands was in the middle of January and we had three days of rain wind and 3 days of Sun. So I think early February would be better

Thanks Timmy, excellent overview and fits perfectly to my plans. How long have you been in Nicaragua?
